It's very serene place. Very calming and relaxing..spiritually and physically
This is one of my favorite places in all of Asia. I keep feeling drawn back to its slow-paced streets, afternoons by the river, calming temples, and bustling night market. You can feel both the unique Lao culture and the French influence, and it's a charming town that beckons us to slow down and enjoy.
I've been to Luang Prabang a few times and it's one of my favorite places in Asia. The UNESCO World Heritage town is a charming place that is still relaxed and undeveloped despite being much more popular than it was a few years ago. Because of the French influence there are some amazing restaurants and relaxed coffee houses where you can sit and watch the world go by eating delicious baguettes. The night market is one of few in Asia where you are not hassled and is great place to buy unique souvenirs and home-wares while taking a relaxing walk. The sunrise alms giving ceremony is definitely worth waking up for (but please be respectful). There are some luxury boutique hotels here as well as backpacker accommodation. I'd recommend 3-4 days here, no more. 2 at a minimum. Then go up river or stay in the countryside which is amazing.
Luang Prabang is a beautiful town and a UNESCO World Heritage Center. Once a French colony, you notice the influences in the architecture and town layout. Luang Prabang is an excellent destination for those looking to experience a rich culture, vibrant night markets, and a laid back vibe. The nightlife in Luang Prabang is virtually non-existent with almost all bars closing early, and one bowling alley out of town where people drink late.
