Fun city to live in, Lafayette is a sterling example of Cajun culture. Good food, fun times, and southern hospitality are always around the corner in this city. Great restaurants such as Jolie's Louisiana Bistro, Blue Dog Cafe, and Don's Seafood can be found all around the city. The downtown strip lights up almost every night of the week with its clubs, bars, and pubs. The city is well kept and the locals are very friendly.
Not the most interesting town in the south or even Louisiana. Great for a taste of real Cajun life and history though, and lots of great nature nearby. Vegetarians beware, it's a food desert.
It was great living there. Loads of fun but you have to enjoy drinking, lol. They would close downtown every Friday night and have live outdoor concerts, 4 stages simultaneously. The Cajuns love to party that's for sure. The city itself was clean and well maintained. The entertainment venues were many and lots of different varieties of entertainment were always available! Drive thru Daquari bars... need I say more! Loved my time there.
Beautiful scenery on long bridge!
