Closest entrance to Yellowstone National Park from Big Sky. Snowmobile rentals. Shopping.
Every section of the park was an adventure. My favorite place was the Hot Springs up near Mammoth lodge in the northern section of the park. We took three days but could easily have taken an extra day or two
Busy rustic town catering to tourists heading to and from Yellowstone. It is has the requisite multitude of T-shirt and knicknack stores but also some decent food a nice bookstore and a new Imax and viewing center for wild animals. Only a stones throw from the West entrance to Yellowstone.
We stayed in a hotel in the town. It's a very sweet little town, located just a few miles away from Yellowstone. The town is mostly filled with hotels and tourists who are staying in the area. But it still maintains the small mid-west town's tranquility and peace. There is plenty of food options around town, including some exotic ones where you could try deer and bison meat. Also some grocery stores nearby for grabbing a few snacks for the trip.
