Concepción is usually the second stop on the Jesuit Mission Circuit, and is a short drive from San Javier. Similar to San Javier the main draw is the Mission Church. This is probably my least favorite of the Jesuit Churches, and strikes me as a bit garish. The other draw is that Concepción was the center of the work to restore the Jesuit Mission Churches and you can go to the museum and learn more about this work.
The most developed town on the mission circuit, it's a great place to start. There are a couple places to eat and stay on and around the plaza, and a lake just outside the city to go swimming in. This is where the annual orchid festival is held too, and you can see exquisite flowers adoring many houses. The mission is huge, taking a whole block with a separate tower structure, it is one of the most recognizable. I was told there is a forest of irredescent black orchids outside of town, but I had to move on before confirming. Send pictures if you make it here!
