France is generally safe, but one female traveler noted that after the attacks of the last few years, some are "...worried unnecessarily that things had drastically changed in France due to the media…(but) awareness is always important... to make sure it doesn’t translate into…fear.” As to dress, "if you look 'put together' in a skirt or slacks, people will treat you better" and most women feel "comfortable traveling there solo."
I knew France when I studied the history of China during Qing Dynasty, Yuan Ming Yuan was burnt and destroyed by "Ba Guo LIan Jun". One of the country is France, I was so admired of Napoleon and French Revolution and I hoped I can stand on this country.
kocham Francję i Francuzów, to wspaniały, piękny i różnorodny kraj z pysznym jedzeniem :)
Notre Dame Paris.. one of the largest church in the world and finest example of French Gothic Architecture..:)
France is famous for so many reasons and bing here I can see why. So many terms in English for all that is "chic" and refined come from the French. Beautiful design everywhere you look. History at every turn. And food that might as well be art. It's not cheap but it is France and a default stop on any Euro trip.
When it comes to countries where you might accidently fall foul of the law, I’m sure liberal old France doesn’t factor very highly in the public imagination. But although I know more people who have been deported from Uzbekistan (don’t forget to keep your hotel chitties!), I’m rather more concerned with the way France seems to have the presidential system of a banana republic. In short, you can go to jail for insulting the president. Yes. Jail. So, for example, if I was to write here that François Hollande’s mother was a hamster and his father smelt of elderberries, the next time I pop through the Channel Tunnel, I could be arrested. Good job that was just *an example*, eh?
I would love to spend a year living in France and learning the language. Several of my closest friends are French or speak French fluently. The food is fantastic, the language itself is pleasing to the ears, and the rural and urban landscape is amazing.
As a long-time Francophile, it would be impossible for me not to love France. The country's cooking is amazing! Julia Child did not get all excited for nothing, folks. The culture is something I fell in love with during my first visit and brings me back as frequently as possible. From the chateaus in the Loire Valley to the metropolitan and impeccable Paris, France has a bit of beauty for anyone.
Definitely a must to see this at night versus daylight. We did both, it took my breathe away. There was this live band that played while the tower lit up.. Being there with people I love made it memorable...
France sometimes gets a bad rap in the U.S. and I hope that continues so there are fewer American tourists clogging the country up. France is a truly wonderful country to visit. The culture and language are beautiful, and the food is amazing almost anywhere you go. Paris is one of the top draws to the country and with good reason, but don't miss Provence, Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire valley. Truly getting to know France is impossible in one trip, and really would require living there for several years. But it is worth trying
