Μπορείτε να δείτε κυριολεκτικά τις πυραμίδες από το ξενοδοχείο, και είναι μόνο ένα λεπτό με τα πόδια - τόσο κοντά! Το μόνο μειονέκτημα εδώ είναι Wi-Fi λειτουργεί μόνο στους βασικούς χώρους του ξενοδοχείου (πισίνα στον κήπο) και λόμπι και δεν λειτουργεί στα δωμάτια. Αν ήταν ποτέ να το διορθώσουμε αυτό το ξενοδοχείο θα ήταν τέλειο. Σας συνιστώ να μείνετε εδώ στο Κάιρο και σίγουρα θα επιστρέψω εδώ.

Αν έχετε τα σωστά δωμάτια, μπορείτε να δείτε τις πυραμίδες από το μπαλκόνι σας. Δεν θα μπορούσα να σκεφτώ ένα καλύτερο ξενοδοχείο αν θέλετε να εξερευνήσετε τη Γκίζα. Η φωτογραφία που δημοσιεύσαμε ήταν η θέα από το μπαλκόνι μου. Δεν είναι αστείο.

Old school glamour - this isn't THE most luxurious hotel in Cairo, but it's full of history and right opposite the pyramids. Ask for a room looking out on the Great Pyramid - doesn't get better than that....

The first time I discovered this absolute gem of a hotel was after a long, dry afternoon exploring the Pyramids at Giza. There, like a mirage, was this wedding cake like building surrounded by lush gardens. First opened in 1869 as a hunting lodge for Egyptian King Isma'il Pasha, it wasn't until two decades later that its subsequent English owners transformed it into one of the world's most legendary hotels. Today the property is managed by Oberoi, the Indian luxury hotel group, who massively expanded capacity through constructing the comfortable, but architecturally unremarkable Garden Wing during the 1970s and 1980s. The hotel has rightly become a tourist attraction in its own right, but to not stay here would be to miss out on the kind of old-fashioned service where you're treated like a much-loved member of the family - many of the hotel's staff have been working here for generations - and to be surrounded by antiques which evoke the glory days of Carnarvon and Carter (one of the best suites is named after the latter). And then there's waking up to that amazing view of the majestic and strangely hypnotic pyramids. The hotel also boasts The Moghul Room - widely considered to be one of the best Indian restaurants in Cairo, I'd venture further and say possibly in the world. I've been a returning guest here over the years and shall never forget the treat of having dinner served on the terrace of the Carter Suite just after sundown, watching the Pyramids occasionally bathed in light during the Sound & Light show. At the time of writing (early 2012) the distinctive Palace Wing was closed for restoration. Although work is to be carried out under the supervision of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, I fear for some of the more esoteric design features, such as the high 1960s bar area in the Khan El Khalili.

The best hotel in all of Cairo! We stay here every time we travel to Egypt. The rooms are amazingly modern (new section) and most have a Pyramid view. The Giza Plateau is only a couple minute walk up to the entrance. One of my favorite things about this hotel is it's Classic Egypt. Originally a Palace built in the 1800's, this hotel still holds on to that old world charm. When you picture the Egypt of old, this hotel was here. The old photos decorating the hotel (not in a tacky way) are reference to a simpler time...

This is the place to stay to experience the Pyramids. It's also a short taxi ride to downtown Cairo. There is a great swimming pool almost in the shadow ofthe Great Pyramid. You'll recognize scenes from James Bond and countless other spy films in the public rooms of this deluxe hotel. Oberoi is an East Indian chain and they do a great job here, especially if you aren't looking for American food. The hotel grounds abut the archealogical site with manicured paths through exotic plants and trees. In the early evenings, the pyramids are lit, creating a unique splendor. This is a good hotel chain and you can expect anything a Marriot might have.

Every visitor to Cairo should spend at least 1 night here. The property has a prime location next to the pyramids and provides a great venue for leisurely enjoying them over meals, a swim at the pool, or from your own balcony.

We stayed in the Aga Khan Suite but have also stayed in a Deluxe Pyramid View room. The rooms in the old part of the building are a bit dated but have a great deal of charm. I actually prefer the Pyramid View rooms in the new wing; however, I believe the old wing is about to be refurbished.

Food at this property is exceptional. Most staff are also quite good; however, some of the bell boys may try to pull a fast one when it comes to taxi arrangements (an unfortunately common occurence at most places in Egypt).
