Great snorkeling place. Very good in summer, but it could be dangerous in Winter. It is the end of the road, so parking can be a problem.
Pretty little beach at the very end of the road on the North Shore, go early and be prepared for crowds (also serves as the trailhead for the very popular Kalalau Trail.
This is probably my favorite spot on the island. The peace and serenity looking back at the cliffs is mesmerizing.
One of the most scenic beaches on the North Shore and the gateway to the 11-mile Kalalau Trail (though you don't have to do the whole thing!). As others have observed, its popularity means that the relatively few parking spaces tend to be full quite early on in the day, though if you venture here for the often spectacular sunsets, many visitors have already gone for the day. Do watch those riptides - the ocean may look inviting but can often be hazardous for even strong swimmers.
Kee Beach is literally the last small reef cove beach in Haena Beach Park at the end of the Highway where the Na Pali trail begins to walk into Kalalau Valley or to Hanakapi'ai Beach and waterfall a 1.1 mile moderate hike.
End of the road and just the beginning of fun. Get there early, parking is at a premium. Great snorkeling, wonderful beach, nearby trailheads and lava tubes! Aloha Spirit through the one ways and you've got paradise at your fingertips.....
Gateway to the incredible Ka la lay trail and fantastic snorkeling. Turtlles are a regular visitor.
There are many beautiful beaches in Kauai but none as spectacular as this. You will expect King Kong to come right out of the jungle. A must visit. This beach was used in the film "From Hear to Eternity". Great hiking of the Nepali Coast starts from here.
This is the place to go and see the sunset. Also good snorkeling when the waters are calm. Watch our for currents. There are lifeguards on duty. Parking can be really difficult, so best to get their early or near the end of the day when others are leaving. Also the kick off point for the Hanakapi'ai Trail (http://www.kauaiexplorer.com/hiking_kauai/hanakapiai_hike.php).
Gorgeous beach at the end of the road that is also the start of the famous Kalalau Trail. Hike from here to Hanakapiai Falls for a great day of outdoor fun!
This is the end of the road, literally. The last beach accessible by car on the north shore, Ke'e's gentle ocean lagoon is best utilized in the calm ocean conditions of the summer. The lagoon is protected from waves by reefs which provide good snorkeling during these seasonal calms. A view of the entire Na Pali coast stretches westwards from this point. Public parking, bathrooms and showers.
Another incredible snorkeling beach on the North Shore. Make sure to stop in Hanalei on your way back for some shaved ice at Wishing Well Shave Ice or Shave Ice Paradise.
To get to Ke'e, pronounced KA'A, you will drive on one of the most beautiful roads on planet earth. The lush tropical forests along with all the great places to stop along the way. This includes Tunnels beach, the dry cave and more. The drive to and from Ke'e is an adventure in itself. If you plan on stopping at Ke'e beach, leave early because parking is at a premium. There is extra parking a bit up the road if you get there late but who wants to walk back to the beach. Ke'e is my number one spot on Kauai. When you walk onto the beach, you will walk to the right along the beach. After you claim your spot and put your towel out, keep walking in the same direction. DO NOT TURN AROUND. Keep walking to the small point on the beach, maybe a quarter of a mile from where you walked onto the beach. Once at the point, turn around. From this point, you will be able to look strait down the Na Pali.
Ke'e is a fantastic place to snorkel having both a sandy bottom part to walk and a reef. The best snorkeling is along the edge of the reef where it meets the sandy bottom. Again, do not harass and monk seals you may see on the beach.
The end of the road at the Northshore of the Island. Beautiful views along the way to your final destination. Ke'e does have opportunity to snorkel and swim with a lifeguard on duty. Take a walk along the beach and enjoy the views.
Gorgeous scenery on the way and at the beach! Great for snorkeling or a swim after hiking the Napali coast
Get here early and enjoy hiking, snorkeling, and a beautiful beach. Take a walk to get away from the crowds.
This is our favorite spot to snorkel on the island, and even though the drive is long, it is worth it. The beach is surrounded by a reef, which not only helps keep the waves down but also supports a wide variety of fish and marine life.
The start of the Kalalau trail is also at this beach, so even if you don't want to hike the full 2 miles to a beach or 4 miles to a waterfall, going up the trail for about a 1/2 mile will lead you to some gorgeous overlooks with breathtaking views of Ke'e and the Na Pali Coast.
On another note, this beach and the Kalalau trail are very popular, so try to get there as early in the morning as possible as parking fills up extremely fast!
Beautiful beach. It can get very hot in the summer, and parking can be a challenge, so come early. It is a wonderful spot for snorkeling, especially in the summer. It is a lifeguarded beach, and can be closed over a period of time in the winter, due to the surf.
The beach is spectacular for snorkeling. It's only eight miles away at the "end of the road." Can't give it a 5 star rating because parking is really hectic, but if you get there early in the day or you chill and stay calm, vying for parking is worth it.
At the very end of the road! Don't be discouraged by lack of parking, just wait a few minutes in your car and someone will leave before you know it. In the summer time when waves are low swim out to the sand bar and look down the Napali Coast line from the water. If you can swim just 20-30 yards you can make it.
