With its great open air dining and amazing tapas plates, it's worth making a trip here if you're spending any time in Kauai.

Hanalei's Bar Acuda is arguably Kauai's crowned culinary jewel and if you took a poll on any given night in the casual, but chic, open-aired dining room, the indulgent patrons would probably say it's their favorite restaurant in the archipelago. It's hard not to have a good time here, sampling the North Shore's finest Mediterranean inspired dishes infused with local Kauai produce. Tapas are the specialty here and it can take awhile to work through the extensive menu (with creative selections like local North Shore honeycomb with Humboldt Fog goat cheese and crisp apple) and wine list-- half of which are available by the glass. It's the perfect recipe for an epicurean night out in the Garden Island.

Great atmosphere, good selection of tapas, nice wine selections. Usually make multiple stops here during our visit.

We love the ambience at Bar-Acuda, it's a short drive or a 10 minute walk. The food is a good solid '8'. Must make reservations in advance though, they get booked up fast.

I stayed on Kauai for a month on the north shore and I was here all the time. Very metro, which is rare for such an isolated location.

Bar Acuda is a very cool place to have a relaxing dinner any evening. Make it a point to walk inside and take a look in the kitchen and the chefs busy at work! The ambiance is very cool and unique, different from the other restaurants in town. The food is A+! Frequently see celebrities here!

Great spot for an evening of tapas and good wine. Eat at the chef's counter but make a reservation!

prob the best meal we had in Kauai, esp if you are staying in the Princeville area. tapas style meal with small plates. it gets expensive but almost all the dishes are tasty. on par with some of the better restaurants in SF.

My favorite restaurant in Hanalei. Started by the former chef of The Slow Club in San Francisco, this restaurant follows a tapas style, but the ingredients are all local and fresh, and the food is more continental.

ambiance is good, quality of food is great, one of the more hip places on the island
