The dim sum was very authentic. They serve higher end dim sum. The prices reflect that. At night they serve entree dinners to share, no dim sum. The workers all speak English and Cantonese.

Wow, finally a restaurant with great tasting Chinese food! I haven't found much good Chinese food places here, but Mandalay sure changed my mind. I've tried the Royal Garden at Ala Moana, suppose to have good food, but still not up to par. Mandalay is located in downtown and the parking lot is across the street, the restaurant validates it which is a plus. The shrimp har gaw (shrimp dumpling) was really tasty and meaty with shrimp, they didn't skimp on it. The char siu bao (baked pork buns) was pretty good size. The fried taro was good, crunchy outside, very savory inside. I hadn't had good Chinese food in a long time and now I will know where to take my family and friends when they want really good Chinese food.
