Tangkouzhen

This is a place to base yourself before a trip up Mount Huangshan, as it's in close proximity to the yellow mountain. There are a few youth hostels and hotels on the main road. Some of the best local food can be found in a few of the unassuming establishments in Tangkou. Like many Chinese towns, it completely shuts down at night, so eat early and head back to your hotel at a decent hour to prepare yourself for your day of adventuring on the mountain.
