National Park and the Beach are the attractions here in this area. The day I took the bus here, it was very crowded like 2 to 3pm in the afternoon. I checked out both the national park and beach, but wasn't too impressed. Good place to hike and then relax on the beach with a drink.

Rated #23 in the world by TA. A must see in Costa Rica.

A perfect combination of jungle, wildlife, adventure, and beautiful beaches. Breathtaking ocean views.

Lots of hotels, restaurants, bars and discos.

A very unique National Park.

Zip lining, canyoning, white water rafting, mangrove, hanging bridges, jet skis, ATVs, sailing, sportfishing, snorkeling, dolphin watching, hiking, waterfalls, kayaking, parasailing, surfing. Everything you are looking for in just one place.

Beautiful national park on the Pacific coast. About a 3 hour drive from San José. There is also an airport if you want to fly instead. Very nice beaches, and a lot of accessible wild life. I was amazed at how many animals I saw while walking around the park.

Manuel Antonio was really beautiful. We stayed 6 days at the Parador hotel which was really nice. Some of the restaurants we visited are worth mentioning including Mar Luna, Avion (food ok, but you have to see the exCIA spy plane), Agua Azuls, and Salsa Puedes. All had very nice ocean views. We did some great tours including rafting, Titi Canopy zip line (highly recommended), and surf lessons with MASS (also recommended). We went to the park only one day and the beach was really nice but the entry fee for the 6 of us was almost $100. I also recommend renting a car when you come so you can visit other areas. Manuel Antonio seemed to cater to both backpackers and luxury travelers as we saw plenty of both types of hotels. We visited Dominical one day which was about an hour away and had nice beaches with less crowds.

We had an incredible time exploring Manuel Antonio National Park! We got there at 7am (highly recommended) and spent our morning spotting sloths, monkeys and creatures of all kinds. Be sure to bring food/drinks as nothing is sold in the park. We also did the hike to Punta Catedral - a must do.

Check out our post for mrs details, tips and awesome photos! Enjoy :)

I love Manuel Antonio and Quepos, they are quaint, vibrant and eclectic seaside towns with a mix of all types of people and resource levels. Luxury is juxtaposed with cattle ranching and the subsisitence economy. Forests of wildlife swell with boldness around every turn inspiring the lenses of tourists and residents alike. Common sense is the watchword for the aversion of misfortunes anywhere you visit but nothing particular stands out in these towns to be wary of except the occasional malcriao taxi from out of town looking to get a free ride home. Top shelf place to visit and relax at the beach.

Nice place to go, even if you don't have so much time to stay you can go for a day and have a walk in its beach or the National Park

The most photographed place in Costa Rica...truly magical. Though small in size, Manuel Antonio is considered to be the most beautiful park in Costa Rica, famous for sparkling beaches that emerge from its wondrous tropical rainforest.

Ponce de León, the Spanish explorer remembered for his quest to find the Fountain of Youth, discovered Manuel Antonio in 1519. We don’t know which of the park’s lovely white sand beaches he first set foot on, but he was no doubt as inspired by their beauty as visitors are today. Manuel Antonio is one of the world’s most renowned beach destinations, and each of its lovely white sand beaches -- Espadilla, Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondido and Playita – is unique in its own way. All are perfect for swimming or surfing.

Manuel Antonio is the natural habitat of hundreds of species of wildlife and birds, any number of which may be seen on any of the park’s network of hiking trails. The area offers an array of ecotourism and adventure options , and the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica has some of the best sport fishing anywhere, with charters available from the nearby fishing town of Quepos.

Manuel Antonio is a nice little town right outside of the Manuel Antonio National Park. It's laid back and friendly. There are tons of places to eat along the mountain it sits on and the views of the Pacific beaches are incredible. The town beach is also very nice and worth a visit.
