How do you describe Jemaa el-Fnaa Market? The public square is a hive of activity day or night with street performers, dancers, storytellers, cobras swaying to the music, henna artists, souvenir vendors during the day.
At night magically transformed at night into rows of food stalls, where they are vying for your business and you are enticed to sit and have dinner. The atmosphere is electric and enticing and it is not to be missed.

This market is full of Moroccan culture and strange side show displays. With birds of prey, monkeys, Cobra charmers and more. Local street foods line the market. Fruit trucks, juice trucks and more. Anything you want to buy you can find there.

A bustling market filled with fresh food and live music into the wee hours of the night. Alcohol does not appear to be sold anywhere on the premises.

Jemma el-Fna is a chaotic sensory experience that you cannot miss in Marrakech. There are so many sights and sounds and smells. It's wonderful. Be cognizant of your surroundings and be prepared for aggressive sales pitches. It's surreal around sunset, which seems to be the best time of day to go. If you're up for more adventure, wander the souks too.

Visit Djemaa al Fna during the day to see snake charmers and acrobats on your way to the souks or the many restaurants bordering the square. Return at night to eat at the open air food stalls and see the square come to life with music and entertainment.

The famous town square of Marrakech, Jemaa l-Fna its a continuous day and night market place. During most of the days, perfomers of every kind put up their shows, continuing until the food stalls start to move in. The food is prepares from fresh on the spot, and you can choose between fish, meat or vegetable dishes. The concept is easy, you point at everything you desire, indicate the quantity and within few minutes it is there in front of you. Jemaa el-Fna owes most of its fame to the large number of spectacles going on all around all the time : Snake charmers, singers, story tellers and healers. When you keep walking past food stalls, and start seeing shops for clothes, you have entered the Medina of Marrakech, where there are stores for just about anything.

You can't truly experience Marrakech without visiting here at least once. This is a beating heart of a main square which still manages to conjure up the exotic sights, sounds and smells of the region in one place. For the first time visitor - especially at night - it can feel overwhelming: from snake charmers and story tellers to fire eaters and men selling live tortoises. Aside from these feasts for the senses, the real attractions are the night time stalls selling inexpensive and delicious street food, the fresh juice sellers and the grand cafes which line the square, a perfect spot for a mint tea and some serious people watching.

This is a sight that has to be experienced.by day or night there is a throng of people trying to sell their wares. You need to be firm to avoid unwanted attention but thr sights and sounds are wonderful. The food stalls are an experience all on their own. We looked to wherever moroccans were eating and found the food was amazing. Use your hands to eat and the experience is superb and the merguez sausages are outstanding

A very busy and bustling place. Be prepared to encounter numerous touts. My friend and I chose to sit at a restaurant nearby to catch the amazing sunset and watch the crowds from afar. And it was indeed a wonderful recommendation by our guide!

Λονδίνο

There's no denying it would be a missed opportunity to visit Marrakech and not pay a visit to this exotic and hyperactive central square. It bursts with energy - sights, smells and sounds that overload the senses - and is packed with food stalls, snake charmers, gift sellers and more, all vying for your attention, and a share of the tourist goldmine... and this is where the real downside also presents itself. It won't take you long at all to realise that, although the history of this square is clearly evident (and fascinating), today this energy is focused intensely on your wallet. Here, more than anywhere else in Morocco, you will likely be relentlessly hassled to the point of exasperation by anyone with whom you make eye contact, and it doesn't take long for this to seriously detract from your enjoyment of the spectacle. For a much more amenable experience, retreat to one of the overlooking rooftops and enjoy the scene from a comfortable distance with a refreshing mint tea.

This spectacular square is the heart of the Medina and it beats loudly and with intensity. Tourists are certainly everywhere but the locals prevail and this spot delivers on being magical. Eat, drink and people watch. If you don't like snakes, avoid the music.

Djemaa el Fna is the epitome of exotic. The sights, sounds and smells of Arabic Africa assault your senses at every turn. Snake charmers, soothsayers, amateur pugilists, roaming musicians and water bearers alike wander the food labyrinth stalls of smoke and fire serving everything from snail soup to sheep head sandwiches.

New YORK!

Some snobby people write this place off as "touristy." I don't get it. Yes, of course, the place is crammed with tourists, because you can't go to Marrakech and skip the place, or even go anywhere without passing through it. But there are plenty of Moroccans here as well, and all the storytellers and snake charmers and just random weird people are doing their bits in Arabic, not in some pandering English-French mix. And it's a great place to see Moroccan families out and about.
