I can't say I was wildly impressed with decor at The President Hotel, although it was in a constant bustle with patrons. It's a family friendly place that is perfect for the budget traveler. There is a $19 resort fee per day which includes welcome drinks at the bar, towel rentals for the beach, continental breakfast for two, bottles of water, and luggage storage service. Luggage storage is very important if you are checking out at 11am and still want to enjoy your vacation for the final day. What impressed me was more the amenities than the hotel itself. Their happy hour from 3pm-8pm has 2-for-1 drinks and is a great way to save some money before heading out on the town.
When I picture South Beach hotels, the President is one of the ones that comes to mind. It's a small, boutique hotel off one of SoBe's main roads (Collins Ave), with a bit of an Art Deco exterior, and a cute, colorful interior. It's neither budget nor high-end, neither a super party spot nor an ultra-quiet zen locale. The President is simply a standard beach hotel that's perfectly suites for young couples or folks looking to have a little fun on South Beach but still want to catch a few winks by the end of the night.
Bedrooms have all the usual goodies, like a mini-fridge, free wifi, and a TV. Plus they've got cool palm fronds painted on the walls that adds a kitschy touch to the place. They offer continental breakfast and yummy drinks with a great happy hour at the Green Bar and Lounge. Really, no complaints here.
If you're looking for a hotel that captures the throwback art deco design of old school Miami Beach, and the ultra-modern club chic of present day South Beach, the President is your place. It skirts the line between the two eras with bright, lively colors, and a slightly more laidback soundtrack of the dance music you'll hear just a block west in the nightclubs on Washington Avenue. Each room was colorful, clean and comfortable — with iPod docking stations and free wifi — and the staff members I dealt with were breezy and friendly, especially those at the bar/lounge. I'd definitely recommend it for someone seeking a classic South Beach vacation.
The President Hotel is a small and simple boutique hotel. It’s in a perfect location in South Beach, with plenty attractions within walking distance. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable about restaurants, bars, and shops in the area. The lobby was alive with the quintessential Miami nightlife music and young people at the bar having drinks. The rooms were nice, clean, and had the basic amenities of TV, mini-bar, safe, and bathroom necessities. Other than the vibrant green walls, the rooms, and hotel itself, seems to embrace a simple and super minimalist decor. This is a great hotel for young people and party-goers who do not prioritize unique architecture and a chic design, but rather having a comfortable bed to return to.
