On a quiet and conservative street edging towards Saint Sulpice, a stately entrance leads you through a vine-clad courtyard into this tranquil hotel. The hotel has an easy going pace in the reception and lounge areas with open fire place and plump sofas give the hotel a warm, family-run feel. It gives the sense that there are more surprises ahead, which is certainly justified when you venture into the peaceful garden area – breakfast is served here in the summer months – which is rich in different shades of green and has a mini fountain gushing water. The rooms are tastefully decorated, each with their own unique colour and style from traditional to modern. All rooms are equipped with flat screen TVs and Wi-Fi. With professional and amicable staff on hand for the slightest request, Hotel de l'Abbaye is the perfect Paris retreat.
I really loved this delightful hotel, the staff were so welcoming and the room was wonderfully decorated and spacious!
There were many great things about the hotel, including the outdoor courtyard where you can sit and relax in the sun, and they had really great room service. The location was splendid too, it was just a few minutes away from Jardin du Luxembourg and around the corner from Saint Sulpice (the church in The Da Vinci Code). If you're into shopping you're just a stone throw away from Boulevard Saint-Germain and right next to Rue de Rennes (a great place for highstreet and designer stores alike!) Considering how busy and popular the 6eme arrondissement of Paris tends to be I was pleasantly surprised when I realised this hotel was away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets - a really lovely retreat!
Charmingly warm place to stay with excellent room service. I liked that you can take your breakfast at their parlor or order it to your room for no additional fee. They have a pleasant courtyard where you can relax and read a book, or meet a friend. (Most visitors are American.) The interior decor is antique floral, very busy design but the beds look clean, fresh and you get the feeling you're in the lap of comfort and luxury. The staff is professional, respectful and willing to tend to your every whim. It's a very small hotel in the St. Germain area near plenty of shops and near a beautiful church with a plaza worth strolling by. Very charming little hotel.
I just adored this luxurious hotel down the quiet Rue Cassette in Paris's beautiful 6th arrondissement. The hotel is set back from the road a little, with a pretty cobblestoned courtyard out front - perfect for an afternoon apéro. The Abbaye Saint-Germain is pleasantly small with just 44 rooms, yet has plenty of space to enjoy with a splendid conservatory to sit and read, as well as living rooms, a bar and a relaxing back garden. The style is traditional, classic French with antique furniture, alcoves and lovely fabrics all around. The rooms are spacious and elegant - some even have their own terrace! The floors are carpeted, the rooms large and the rooms tastefully decorated to match the hotel's overall ambiance. Saint-Germain is one of Paris's most chic and pleasant areas, just a short walk from the Luxembourg gardens and many lively restaurants, bars and cafés.
