Beautiful cathedral! Reminds me of Notre dame in Paris. There is labyrinth inside.

You beautiful church in a central location. Such an iconic sf location for worship, photos and long walks
Absolutely beautiful cathedral. Definitely worth checking out! The labyrinth is awesome! Speaking of which, you can do yoga for a donation on Tuesdays here :)
Large, beautiful cathedral in downtown SF with a pleasant park outside. Entrance is free and there are some interesting features such as labyrinths which are designed to help with meditation and peace.
This is the most beautiful place I've ever been and there are two labyrinths.
Grace Cathedral is a lovely building. It was the site of David Arquette and Courteney Cox's wedding back in the late 90s.
This cathedral has the most San Franciscan of feels to it. Where else, may I ask, will you find a side chapel that is not only multi-faith but the home of a massive triptych centerpiece by gay activist and artist Keith Haring? While the special Keith Haring exhibit hosted at the DeYoung earlier this year had a price tag of $30, you can see this piece of his for free. Known for his big lines, bold colors, and active figures, I was really happy to see a work of his in a cathedral also known for its support of the LGBT population, especially during the height of the AIDS epidemic.
SF's beautiful Grace Cathedral and its Labyrinth host weekly yoga practiced to live music. The yoga is donation based, with a recommendation of 10-20 dollars. (If you can't afford a donation, that's okay, too.) Yoga is open to yogis of all levels and ages.
This beautiful iconic SF Nob Hill church is open daily to visitors. There is a donation based yoga class held in the foyer under the breathtaking structure and stain glass on Tues. nights at 6:15. The California St. cable car runs right past, so there's no need to hike the hill if you catch it at Embarcadero.
Beautiful in every way from its history, the architecture, and aura.
This place brought tears to my eyes as I walked the outdoor labyrinth.
Enough said. Go!
Grace Cathedral is the Episcopalian seat of the bishop of the California. It sits perched atop Nob Hill across from a nice old fashioned park. If you want to see French Gothic in San Francisco do visit. There is now a poorly considered grand staircase along the front, where there used be a very fine limestone building as there were originally in many medieval urban cathedrals, still the interior is beautiful, especially the old stained glass windows, that is most of them. There is a running mural along both sides of the nave that narrates the history of San Francisco, from Sir Francis Drake's landing nearby and the arrival of the Spaniards, to the founding of the UN. The cathedral space holds many priceless art pieces, some venerably old, others commissioned for the space in the early 20th century. The choir of men and boys is worth a listen, and there is public evensong on Thursdays during school term. There is a labyrinth set into the pavement that is used for meditation.
Established in 1907. Grace Cathedral is the daughter of historic Grace Church which was built in 1849 and the imposing third church was destroyed in the fire following the 1906 earthquake. Work began on the present structure in 1928 and was completed in 1964
A gorgeous cahtedral to take photos inside and out. The place during high noon has some amazing lighting that comes through the windows and in turn creates amazing photographs.
I came here mainly to view, admire and photograph the architecture and design. I am actually Buddhist, with a great respect for all religions and spiritual paths. With that said, this is a beautiful cathedral. From the steps, to the apparent French Gothic building architecture, to the stain glass windows in the church. I grew up Catholic and when I saw the small room to the right where you could light a candle for someone and kneel in prayer, I decided to light a few candles.
They do have a few boxes you can leave donations or alms giving. We did not stop in the gift shop, although I believe there is one.
There is also what I know as a meditation maze/labyrinth. I have never seen this in a Christian church before but I loved that it was there. Someone was actually using it.
There was also an art piece on the wall that depicts a welcoming and acceptance of many faiths. I really liked seeing this here!
I would definitely suggest checking this place out if you have an appreciation for architecture. Bring your camera but be respectful as this is still a place of worship.
Grace Cathedral has a few different holiday performances. I attended the Christmas sing along. It is really geared towards children but was worth going just to see the colorful ribbons hanging from the grand ceiling.
A historic land mark in SF. Grace Cathedral is one of the most beautiful and architecturally astonishing buildings in the city.
This is where you can walk the grand maze in the courtyard while meditating or praying. The inside of this magnificent cathedral is awe inspiring. It reminds me of the old cathedrals in Europe. Definitely worth a visit!
Two labyrinths, astounding concreteusedwell. Hard to believe it's less than a few decades old until you see the stained glass UN window.
Grace Cathedral is at the top of Nob Hill. It is a Anglican church and quote, 'people of all faiths are welcomed'. Three reasons to come here, one: for the Sunday service like a lot of other churches, two: if you want a quiet getaway to reflect on your life. Three: to look at the amazing stained glass windows and architecture of the Cathedral. There are signs by the door asking for a 10 dollar donation, but thats optional only.
