This was such a good time! We found an awesome deal on Living Social for a Drag Brunch which included an all-you-can-eat buffet with mimosas included.
Unfortunately we were seated in the bar area and not in the main room area because of our mistake on dates, but we had a TV in front of us that live recorded the action and we can easily get out of our seats to watch the actual live show.
Each performer was really fun to watch and listen to. One of them in particular had a really amusing song that parodied pop song lyrics.
As for the food, it was surprisingly decent!
- Omelette Bar - A person will freshly make your omelette. It was delicious.
- Pasta Bar - Choose which pasta, and they'll make it for you!
Self serve items included:
- Eggs
- Sausage
- Crepes
- Waffles
- Fruit
- Eggs Benedicts
- Ham
- Bacon
- Chilaquiles
Mimosas were plentiful as well. And strong.
There's also a fun build-your-own-bloody-mary-bar.
Would come back again with a deal!
Draaaaag Brunnnnnch!!!!! Found a great deal on living social.
Unfortunately there was a slight miscommunication on making a reservation for six so we ended up doing a walkin. Had to bug the host until another staff was kind enough to set a spot up for us in the bar area.
Parking: free parking on birch and third Street.
Service : our beautiful bartender, Michelle, was amazing. She made sure our mimosas were filled and checked up on us often.
Food: it wasn't as bad as I expected. They have a spaghetti and delicious omlette station. The chef special changes often. They also serve fruit, ham, bacon, pancake, crepe and waffles.
Performance: they were gorgeous and hilarious
Tip: make sure you make reservation for a good table, don't recommend sitting in the bar area.
Tip2: bring cash so you can throw dollar bills at the performers
I am a huge fan of Rupaul's Drag Race and was excited to see that there is Livingsocial deal that popped up that included two of my favorite things- BRUNCH, and a of course a live Drag Show!
I gathered up a couple of my girlfriends and venture towards the OC..(one of them even came all the way from Santa Monica just for this event! ) So we were really looking forward to an excellent show!
Much to our dismay, we had the 1pm show and apparently they had poor time management and the Drag show literally dragged on for an extra 40 minutes!! We had a group of HOT and bothered HANGRY ladies outside!
When we finally got seated we were seated parallel to the stage and completely blocked off by a huge DJ tower( DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE DJ NEEDS TO BE HELD UP ON A PEDESTAL? Couldn't they put her in the back and give more view space?) SO instead of watching the performers, half the time we were ducking our heads or just watched it from the television they had plastered on the walls. If i wanted to watch it on TV, i wouldn't have drove 40 minutes and spent $7 on parking just to get here!!!
Food was not terrible, it was buffet style with a make your own pasta/omelets stations. Unlimited mimosas were offered as the servers would run back and forth to fill your cups..unfortunately there were a couple of times i wish our server would pay a bit more attention to us as he kept forgetting to fill our cups !
We were also very lucky enough to experience a broken AC vent so that added to a natural disaster! HOt summery day, in a hot room of 50 people!!
Regardless of my endless vent, I truly believe that the host did an excellent job..her jokes woke me up from falling asleep from the lip-syncs..not to mentioned her her amazing eye contact it was just worthy of a standing O!
Management should probably look into fixing some of these situations, because had I pay $35, i would of scream and shout for my money back!
I LOVE LOVE this place!! =)
This review is for the Burlesque show they have here monthly:
They have an AWESOME AWESOME monthly free burlesque show @ beginning of the month (great place for a fun ladies night out..) =) +1
For the burlesque show, be sure to call to RSVP way ahead because they have limited area for seating ...they get booked fast!
Or else you would have to stand to watch the show...which kinda sucks.. =(
I wish they'd expand the show room area into the bar area so that more people can sit & watch the show.... +1
Also, the theme of their burlesque show changes monthly.. =) +1
The burlesque show itself is very fun & entertaining with dancing & singing..very classy..not trashy @ all +1
BTW, if you are NOT going to show up for the show, PLEASE call to cancel your RSVP so others will be able to enjoy this great show.. =)
Service here is 5 stars..waiters are extremely attentive & nice..all of the staff here are very nice, courteous & accommodating =) +1
Parking is ok, you can park on the side streets/ parking structure...area is safe, it's near SA police station & civic center so don't worry. +1
The bar is very nice & colorful decor +1
But the Bartender lady can be rude at times though... =( -1
After the show, the place turns into a gay club scene.. =)
