What an adorable city! I love the look of the buildings here, straight out of a fairytale! Be sure to see the cathedral and the light show at night. Unfortunately, the cathedral was closed when we were visiting. There's lovely restaurants here to featuring regional Alsace cuisine.

I Visited Strasbourg at the height of the holidays, when their Christmas markets were in full effect. So glad I did! Stall after stall selling holiday ornaments, household decorations, jewelry, clothing and of course food glorious food! At first my brain went on overload looking at the giant gingerbread men, candy apples, chocolate covered marshmallows, crêpes and other treats. A steaming hot cup of mulled wine helped me relax:) A respite from the chill and food was easily found, in addition to the famous Strasbourg Cathedral, there's the Musees De La Ville De Strasbourg where I spent two hours and could've browsed longer. It's like several museums in one with archeology, decoration and art sections inside the huge building. I enjoyed Strasbourg very much and only got to see a small part of it. I'll be excited to return.
Btw, the tree in the middle of the town square is much bigger in person than it looks in the photo. Those ornaments were twice the size of a basketball.

Strasbourg claims the oldest recorded Christmas Market in Europe - around 1570. Back then it was called "Christkindelsmärik" (Baby Jesus’ Market). All sorts of Christmas-themed gifts, souvenirs, pastries, events and observances. If you are in the area in late autumn/early winter, it is definitely a "must do" experience (watch out for pickpockets - sad, but true).

STRASBOURG
Strasburg is the capital and the largest city of the Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine region in eastern France and it’s the official seat of the European Parliament. The city is chiefly known for its sandstone Gothic Cathedral with its famous astronomical clock, and for its medieval cityscape of Rhineland black and white timber-framed buildings, particularly in the Petite France district or Gerberviertel. For a city of comparatively small size, Strasbourg displays a large quantity and variety of ancient houses and a variety of museums. And the food and restaurants are top of the bill.

Strasbourg is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. You should see the majestic cathedral and its astronomical clock. Treat yourself to a visit to Strasbourg on a small boat to take you along the canals and shorelines of the old town and medieval architecture in both French and German . Christmas markets are a real treat for the eyes but is also transported by the smell of mulled wine and lots of delicacies such as bredeles , manneles , christollen ... There are so many !
