Looks can be deceiving, especially when it comes to Cream Pan. Outside, this Japanese-French bakery doesn't look like much, but enter inside and you will find yourself in pastry heaven. Known for their strawberry cream croissants, Cream Pan has a long list of delectable desserts, breads and donuts, along with curry and sushi (you read that right). Come as early as possible, as popular items can sell out.

I got the cinnamon bun and it was pretty alright. Not amazing but it wasn't bad and it was cheap.

A simple and delicious bakery in Tustin, there's not too much variety but everything they serve here is perfect!

The most popular item you'll see and MUST TRY is their strawberry croissant. So flakey and the custard feeling is made perfectly, not too sweet not too bland. Every single person I've given one to has fell in love with it! The lunch time line and the lines during the holidays will attest to that.

Another item I'd recommend is the Katsu curry. You can get curry with or without the Katsu but either way there's beef chunks in the curry so I wouldn't recommend it to vegetarians. Fried to perfection and served with ginger, it's a very well balanced meal.

Definitely come before or after peak hour 11:30-1 because I do see a lot of employees from surrounding businesses line up out the door; although the line does move fairly quickly.

Strawberry Croissants are folded like a taco so that the filling doesn't fall out, but the delicious cream will squish out the sides. Flakey buttery pastry is so light!

Prepare to say goodbye to your diet plans because this bakery will have you addicted to their infamous strawberry croissants. They're known for their strawberry croissant pastries and indeed, the hype, the photos and the rave about this delicate, light, perfectly sweet custard is worth that extra pound or two! I was fortunate enough to come late afternoon on a weekend and still be able to get some of the good delicious pastries straight out from the oven and literally devoured them in 10 seconds. The people behind me weren't so lucky because they SOLD OUT!

These croissants are priced at $1.40 each and they are rather small so I do recommend getting a box full of them. They taste better fresh and eaten at the location so don't plan to take some to go because that flaky, light pastry will turn soggy.

This authentic Japanese bakery sells the best custard filled strawberry croissants in town! They bake fresh batches throughout the day and bring it out fresh. For $1.40 a piece it's a great deal! The puffy pastry is soft and flaky, while the creamy custard is not too sugary but sweet enough to please my sweet tooth. The fresh cut strawberries on top is the bonus. Just perfect and deliciously satisfying!

The cream puffs here are awesome, they are tasty and fresh and if you microwave it, it is very soft and will just melt in your mouth.

After scouring the reviews for a good time to arrive since people mentioned that if you arrived too late, the croissants would be all sold out and if you arrived too early, nothing would be placed out ... we picked 11 AM to get there. We anticipated a lot of people and a long line, but surprisingly there was no line! There was just a family eating their croissants outside while others walked out of the store. (The store was located in a shopping plaza, not too big or flashy - luckily my roommate had seen pictures of the storefront from Yelp to be able to recognize it.) So we strolled in and the store was empty! But stacked in front of us were boxes of strawberry croissants. So tempting! There was a table full of bread and other pastries. The store was kind of like Porto's, where everything is behind the glass and you need to tell and point to what you want.

I believe 1 croissant is $1.40 and you can buy them in half a dozen for $8.40 which is not any cheaper. They have banana and strawberry croissants, sandwiches, donuts, rice balls ... I bought a few croissants, a regular cream puff, a donut, and a rice ball and the total came out to be around $9, which I thought was a little bit too costly for the amount of food I got.

But I took a bite into the croissant and forgot about the prices. Eat it while it's fresh! Super crispy yet has the right amount of custard and strawberries. It's really that good that you have to try it yourself to be the judge. I thought the banana and strawberry croissant was good, too and I don't like bananas and chocolate very much. The donut was eh, nothing normal. I do have to say that the cream puff is just as delicious as the strawberry croissant. I love that there's so much custard inside, and the outside of the cream puff has really good texture. You have to eat it while it's fresh though. I waited a day or two to eat the cream puff and the other half of the banana and strawberry croissant and it was no where as good as it was on the first day. The salmon rice ball was all right, but I've had a lot better in Taiwan and from the convenient stores here in SGV. I guess we caught them at a slow day, but it definitely was a memorable trip - another place marked off of my food bucket list!

tl;dr: STRAWBERRY CROISSANT is amazing!

This place is heaven. Every time I go to a party I grab a tray of the strawberry croissant's here. They split them up to singles fives 10 15, 20s or really any amount that you want. I have the real food here and it's nothing that stellar so I just baked goods

I order hundreds of strawberry croissiants at a time. The problem is that they lose their appeal when they're not fresh.

After seeing so much food porn of the strawberry croissants here I finally decided to check this place out.. I usually go to the office only twice a month and the sad thing is that I find myself going to Cream Pan every damn time I am in the office. Why you ask?? Because of their goddamn strawberry croissants and their curry!!

The strawberry croissant is a light and flaky with cream custard in the middle and topped with two slices of strawberries. By far the BEST strawberry croissants I have EVER had. I would definitely try this if you get a chance to visit Cream Pan. It's just over $8 for a pack of 6. I usually buy a dozen at least. LOL.

Now for the curry... Who the heck would order curry at a Japanese bakery? Yet alone at a place that specializes in pastries? I was hungry.. so I tried it out. I was not let down. Their curry is delicious! For the curry, you have a choice of chicken or pork katsu and it comes with a side of rice and a tiny portion of candied ginger. Don't forget to eat the candied ginger with your curry and rice.. it definitely sounds weird to some, but it's so damn good! It's about $9 and you have to pay a dollar or two more for a large size.

Go now.. and don't forget to grab me a dozen strawberry croissants please!

Cream pan is 15 mins south on the 5 from Disneyland(with no traffic). They're best known for this strawberry croissant that indeed lives up to its hype. It's best eaten fresh and will probably survive a bit longer if kept chilled. Everything about it is perfection. This is a must have if you're in the area and they usually run out by early afternoon, so better get it early!

Their strawberry cake is quite good too, along with this blueberry pastry. Otherwise, everything else I've tried has been par or not bad. Bought a loaf of white bread but it was kind of chewy to start - nothing a toaster couldn't rectify.

Overall this place is 5 stars and a must visit based on the strawberry croissant alone.

* one particular staffer girl constantly gets confused with orders. Hopefully someday she'll get it right from the start.

This review is long overdue. I go to the gym adjacent to Cream Pan and was told by my brother and his wife that the strawberry croissants here are bomb. And boy are they! They're half the size of a full-sized croissant and filled with custard and strawberries that taste like they've been soaked in sugar prior to be stuffed into these cute little triangle croissants. It's freakin' good! I could devour 20 of these if it didn't kill me first.

The only downside is that they're pretty pricey. I think for you to get your money's worth on these little suckers is to buy in bulk (like 25 at a time) as they do have volume pricing here. I can't remember how much these tasty morsels of strawberry goodness set me back, but I think it was $1.50 each - and these guys are SMALL. So load up and enjoy the sweet goodness of the strawberry croissants!

Cream Pan is an unassuming Japanese bakery cafe in downtown Tustin.

The storefront is kind of small. The line to order kind of snakes around to the side. While you wait on the side, you do get a view of the things going on in the kitchen. As you stand to the side, you will see a display of their shokupan which is Japanese sliced bread baked to be very soft. There is also a fridge case which you can grab numerous Japanese deli items including sandwiches and sushi. Some of which are less typical like a yakisoba sandwich. Weird as that sounds, they are popular in Japan.

As you get closer to the register, you will see their selection of donuts and pastries. If you are feeling very hungry, you can order Japanese curries here as well. There are few tables inside the store, as well as some outdoor enclosed seating. Perfectly fine since this is Southern California.

The item that Cream Pan is most famous for is their strawberry croissants. They are a cross between a cream puff and a croissant. The croissants are kind of small, so get two and double your pleasure. They are as good as advertised.

I tried a few other things aside from the strawberry croissant including a kinako donut, a beef curry pan as well picking up a bag of sesame seed shokupan. These three items plus a strawberry croissant ran up under $10 so the value at this bakery is terrific.

The kinako donut was tasty with a nice red bean filling inside. They are not your typical donut, I think they use rice flour for it so there is a texture difference. The beef curry pan was delicious as expected. Just like the one I had in Japan when I visited a year ago.

Finally, there is the sesame seed shokupan. While it may be a simple delight, it did really impress me with its texture and versatility. The shokupan was cut thickly so one piece will suffice if you are making a sandwich with it. It works excellently if you are using it to make grilled cheese as the shokupan already has a buttery taste to it.

I am giving Cream Pan five stars because it is the best Japanese bakery I have come across in the US. It brings memories of the great bakeries I encountered while travelling in Japan.

Azuki Cream & Strawberry Croissant are so delicious.
I see my fellow Yelpers check in & rave about Cream Pan. I finally got a chance to come try the food and Yes it's good.

We got here by noon and some of their displays were already empty (no cream pan, next time). But they still had a lot of selection to choose from.

The Must Get:
The Azuki Cream was AMAZING. It had red bean at the bottom and this wonderful cream on top incased in this flaky pastry. I think my wife had an orgasm while eating this. Lol. Get it and find out for yourself.

The strawberry croissant was so good. The croissant was so light and the cream was perfect (not too sweet). I only got one (my mistake lol) because I wanted to try a few of the other offerings. Not next time, I can eat 6 of these (they are small) lol.

We also got a pre-made turkey sandwich. That was so good as well. The bread was just right for this sandwich. Aside from the turkey, it had tomato, cucumber & mayo. Together it was one delicious meal.

The curry pan is outstanding, the best one I've tasted. The curry inside that bread is super delicious. Not spicy, but it has all that curry spices you can taste. This one is a definite winner.

The Good:
The choco horn was yummy. As usual, that cream in the center complimented that chocolate pastry it was in cased in perfectly.

The Okay:
I also tied the cheesecake, chocolate scone and chicken curry pan all were good, but I've had better elsewhere. Still delicious, don't get me wrong.

I think we just found a lunch place for our after swim lesson (my son's).
I'll definitely be back.

There seems to be a faction of Cream Pan vs. Bon Epi strawberry croissant fans. Ryan M. clued me into this after I wrote my Bon Epi review.

I must say that Cream Pan's strawberry croissant is smaller with a flakier texture because it's more of a pastry than a croissant and the filling is custard rather than whipped cream. There is a big difference. Both desserts hold their own because both are delicious in their own way. I'm a fan. It was surprisingly not as sweet as it appeared to be, which is a big plus in my book. I must hold with my Chinese/Vietnamese roots because although I'm a fan of the custard filling, I prefer the whipped cream filling from Bon Epi. It's lighter, creamy, yet not so filling. It gives the false sense that you're consuming less calories.

I did notice, that they over-bake their pastries. All of the pastries have a nicely browned crust, possibly due to the fact that if you don't bake them properly, you'll have a soggy pastry? Each pastry we tried was crispy, flaky, and delicious. Definitely a once-in-a-while treat. I wouldn't try eating it everyday. You can buy a party tray of strawberry croissants for $25. Great for an office party or a small get-together. The lady in line behind us scooped up the last two party trays. Inside, I'm a little jealous. Aside from the delicious desserts, Cream Pan offers a variety of interesting treats: yakisoba pan, egg salad sandwiches, katsu sandwiches, ham & cheese croissants, scones, donuts, and a variety of Japanese sliced bread. They seem to have taken over the Japonaise Bakery/cafe next door and it is now a joint restaurant. It's definitely worth a visit if you've a sweet tooth.
