Is it possible to be modern/industrial and rustic/cabin at the same time? This hotel pulls it off with amazing style and quality. It is artistic and edgy, cozy and lush all at once. Despite all its glass, metal and cement, it still manages to feel warm and welcoming. There is a lounge area centered around a fireplace, a library and sitting area, a full bar and a large restaurant where a full complimentary breakfast buffet is served. The pool and outdoor jacuzzi are as enjoyable as the steam room and saunas. Perched up on a hill, the Focus lift takes you down and deposits you about two doors down from the Klein Matterhorn Ski lift, which takes you to the slopes all year round. Convenience, elegance, quality…all in one package.
The hotel faces the Matterhorn mountain and is located at the southern end of town just above the main ski lift to Furi, Truckner and more! The design is wild and fancy, very modern and avante-garde. The chairs, couches and beds are eccentric and industrial in design but definitely functional. It’s all glass and metal for the most part and the pool seems to be my favorite where there’s a quiet resting room next to it for hanging after those long hours of hiking. All the spaces are super modern with all the bells and whistles a ultra modern boutique hotel would have and it’s done in it’s on unique character. The room looked out on to the grassy lawn of the hotel’s property towards the eastern side of Zermatt. I wasn’t bothered by this since the hotel has so many spots from which one could see the Matterhorn any how.
