The second biggest city in Cambodia. You'll be fascinated with timeless-French-style buildings from the 1900s. This is the place for you if you are the type of person who love natural landscape. The top tourist destination is Phnom Sampov. You can visit the natural caves on the mountain. The view on top of the mountain is also spectacular. You can also visit Komping Puoy Basin and enjoy the cool water there. There are still mote places I haven't explored yet.. High recommend to come

Cambodia's second city, Battambang, is the best preserved of all of the French colonial towns and sits quietly on the banks of the Sangkae River having been largely untouched since the 1950’s. It's grid-patterned European street layout makes it easy to find your way around and I definitely recommend a trip to the local undercover market, if only to try fried cockroach! In the countryside around the town are many Khmer ruins, similar to those at the Angkor temple complexes at Siem Reap, but these have the added attraction of having no tourists and are located on hilltops near villages that have seen very few visitors. Travelling on the back of a motorbike with a local guide going through tiny villages felt a bit like the circus had come to town...and I was the main act! I thoroughly enjoyed it. However the most challenging part of my motorbike tour was visiting a local mountain monastery that had been commandeered by the Khmer Rouge. The "Killing Caves" that were located near the monastery were witness to the full extent of the brutalities of the regime. There are many sites in Cambodia where the remnants of the atrocities can be seen and remembered but this place is particularly haunting knowing that thousands of innocent souls were murdered here, set against a beautiful backdrop of countryside and mountains, and all enveloped by a mist of religious tranquillity. How do you get to Battambang? I caught a boat from Siem Reap that took us through the magnificent Tonle Sap Lake and down the Sangkae River which delivered us to the jetty in Battambang. Too easy! Getting to Phnom Penh was less fun: 5 hours on the back of a pick-up truck on a pot-holed road.

This is sound like a Place that you should go and see. It's the old French's Colonial Head Quarter. It has rare and unique french and traditional Khmer architecture style. :)

This was a very interesting place. I saw parts of the town and it resembled one of these towns that has stopped development.. that being said, i think its worth a visit. Check out the bat cave!
