Drogheda shuts down at 7 during the weekday for the most part but can come alive weekend nights. Two great points: it's on the river, especially if you stay at The D Hotel, and there are many historical sites to the west in particular Newgrange/Knowth, Castle Trim, and others. Casanovas was excellent Italian fare; the shopping is cute enough. It only gets three stars for being a decent town, without much to offer itself. It was a perfect landing point for my first exhausted night!
A must-see for those of us who work on early modern British history, but not sure if everyone else would be keen. Good exhibits.
Drogheda has a more industrial feel than some of the other towns that you may visit on the eastern coast. Nevertheless, it is a fun place to visit. It is fairly cheap, and is a good place to experience a more local feel to the pub culture as it isn't very touristy
this is brilliant worth going to see it shows the history of drogheda during the battle of the boyne
