It is a beautiful place, but with one day you will have enough to see the whole thing.
While maybe not as well known as its European counterparts, this city has so much to offer. A great art scene, nature just outside the city and great shopping make this city a wonderful destination. Be sure to pay your bills before you visit, because money will disappear in the blink of an eye.

The cheapest museum visits in Oslo runs about 80 NOK... The cheapest anything in Norway is about 80 NOK (this is also starting price for beer.) If you need to get to Oslo from the airport the most affordable mode of transportation is the NSB train. (90 NOK each way) Hotels within walking distance of the airport run about 1400 NOK. I think these prices should help to acclimate any traveler to cost of living in Norway... If you'd like to visit Norway on the cheap bring all your food (for the duration of your stay) with you, take your camping gear and drink tap water. Most things close on Sunday. That being said... I loved Oslo, it is the only city I have ever been to where I got a gorgeous bartender's number. She took me with her friends clubbing after work. People in Norway are among the kindest on the planet.
